Gatorade Player of The Year 2006 - D.J. Lemahieu
D.J. Lemahieu, a senior at Brother Rice High School (2007) was chosen as the Gatorade Player of The Year in 2006. Other winners of this tremendous award includes Derek Jeter, Alex Rodriguez, Manny Ramirez, Ken Griffey Jr., Scott Rolen, and Josh Beckett. Along with The Gatorade Player of The Year, D.J. was also named an AFLAC All-American. He played in the All-American game at Tony Gwynn's Stadium on the campus of San Diego State University. D.J.'s top 3 colleges include North Carolina, Clemson, and L.S.U. I've had the privilege of working with D.J. on his hitting since he moved to Michigan from Wisconsin in 2003. His work ethic both on the field and in the classroom is what every student-athlete should aspire to be.
